Hailing from the family farm near the Wheatbelt town of Wongan Hills (180 kilometres north of Perth, population: 700), Dave’s formative years were spent boarding in Perth.

He returned home from traveling extensively overseas post-school, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business degree. He was destined for a stellar career in corporate management before he realised his creative problem solving skills lent themselves to far more entrepreneurial callings.

Over the last 20 years, he has founded and scaled businesses that have delivered increasingly complex and significant cultural, social and economic outcomes. The events and projects he has delivered have required extensive creative and strategic processes, along with negotiations with stakeholders across all sectors of business, the not-for-profit sector, and government.

Along the way, he became expert in securing significant funding and approvals to create events, festivals and activations that have engaged audiences by the millions. The programs he’s delivered have had huge, on-going positive cultural and economic impact. His unique combination of creative, logistical and marketing skills have been key to this success.

Most recently, Dave founded and grew craft brewery brand Otherside Brewing Co from startup to Western Australia’s third largest brewery by volume in under three years. He diversified the business into venue management and created the largest independent, live music venue in the state with the launch of Freo.Social in 2018.

Dave launched BANG BANG & Co in early 2020 to consult on and implement the conception, development and delivery of large-scale cultural projects and programs for corporate, government and not-for-profit clients. Through BANG BANG & Co, he is dedicated to helping the private and public sector create significant, positive social outcomes on a national scale for urban and regional communities.
